This is a very good question! We operate on dogs in a special operating theatre that we have at work. It’s a room that’s kept very, very clean as it is important that we don’t spread infections when we are operating on an animal. The room has big lights and a heated table and lots of equipment that measures how an animal is doing when it is under anaesthetic and we are operating on it. It’s important that we check things like the animal’s heart rate and breathing rate while we are working. If the dog has a disease that we are worried might spread to other dogs, we have another special room called an isolation ward, where we keep the patient separate from the others.
