Hi! I think the best investigation that I have done was a project in Ethiopia, which investigated the diseases of chickens belonging to farmers in small villages in the mountains there. It was a great adventure, which took me to some very beautiful parts of the country. Best of all was meeting and working with some lovely friendly people! It was a challenge to do our investigation and testing in a lab that didn’t have very much equipment, and sometimes we didn’t even have water or electricity! Still, we managed to do all our work, and we discovered that the chickens in Ethiopia are really tough, and even though they can carry different diseases and parasites, they are very well adapted to living in a difficult environment!

      Hi!

My favorite investigation was about a long beach in North Norfolk called Cley barrier beach. In 2013, there was a really big bad storm which hit the coastline along the East of England, and lots of places got flooded. I was looking at how a big wide barrier beach got broken through by the waves, and let lots of water through and flooded the land behing the beach. Luckily nobody died as we knew it was going to happen and made sure everyone was safe.
I was investigating what we should do to fix the hole in the beach, but we then showed how the calmer waves after the storm actualy fixed the beach naturally! I thought this was really cool!
We used an aeroplane to scan the beach and could see how it fixed itself over time, without people having to fill in the hole with diggers!

      Lauren 😀
