• Question: Wat is the hardest sum that you have worked out?

      Hi @349nveg32!

      I tell you what- sums can be really hard!
      I didn’t like maths at school, but my Mum made me do it, and now I use sums at work alot!

      The sums I do now are a mix of maths and science sums, combined to work out engineering problems. For example, I have had to work out how high to build a pile of rocks to keep a seaside town from being hit by really big waves! It has to be the right height- big enough to stop the waves in big storms, and not too big so that the people can’t see the sea!

      The sums use lots of things that I learnt at school, in maths and physics (part of science) and can be very long! You just need to take your time with them and they will make sense in the end!
