• Question: If you ever found yourself in a situation where a cat was about to die and you'd have to do something before it did to save it, would you ever forgive yourself if something went wrong and it was all your fault?

This is a tough question! Yes, I’ve been in these situations many times, and not just cats, but other pets too. Emergencies do happen with pets, and it’s our job to act quickly and do our best to save an animal if we can. Just like doctors and nurses in A&E, vets and vet nurses work together if they have an emergency case. Imagine a poor cat that has been run over for example: we try our best to treat any pain and shock and find out what injuries there are as quickly as we can, and get the cat to a point where it is stable and comfortable, so we can start the tough job of fixing anything that is broken!
We see so many animals, just like doctors see so many people, that yes, mistakes can happen and sometimes things go wrong, we are only human too! It is important that we accept that this can happen, but to learn from it when it does. It is our job to train well, and keep ourselves good at our jobs, so the chances of any mistakes that could have been prevented are as small as they can possibly be 🙂
