      That’s a really good question!

It is also something that scientists are trying to work out. Evolution of people and monkeys has been happening for a very long time. Thousands of years!
Scientists don’t know exactly how we evolved because that is a long time to look at, but know that we didn’t evolve from monkeys, but from animals called primates. Monkeys are a type of primate. Humans are a type of primate. We look like each other a bit, but can do different things. So we have both evolved the same amount, but we look different because we adapt. Monkeys don’t need to be able to speak or go to the shops because they have learnt how to live and catch their own food! Us humans have learn’t how to farm for food and we have learnt to talk to each other- we wouldn’t survive very well in the wild like monkeys do! They can climb trees for food!

      Hope that helps your question!
