Good question! I don’t think every animal needs a monthly check up if it is happy and healthy. We know that pet owners and farmers are always on the look out to see that their animals are getting along fine, and they would let the vet know if they are worried.
If an animal is being treated for an illness over a long period of time, then sometimes frequent check-ups are a good idea, so vets, farmers and pet owners can see if the treatment is going to plan and do any tests they need to.
I do recommend that puppies and kittens are checked every month by the vet or vet nurse until they are 6 months of age, because they do need worming more frequently when they are young, and we can check that they are setting and growing well 🙂
