This is a really interesting question.. You are right in saying that cancer is a terrible disease that affects many people, in Great Britain and all over the world. There are other diseases that are not infectious and that are also very important and need our attention. Diseases like diabetes and heart disease are a real problem, especially as we live in a country where many people often don’t exercise enough or eat a balanced diet. In many, many cases both of these diseases can be prevented, and can be tested for, and not always at a doctor’s surgery or hospital. Did you know that many pharmacies, even in supermarkets offer a quick test for diabetes? They take a tiny blood sample and measure the level of glucose in it, and can tell you within minutes wether you should make a visit to your doctor for advice.
