Question: What is it like to be a vet?

Being a vet is a really fascinating job, and did you know that there are many different ways that you can be a vet? As you know, vets most commonly work by taking care of sick animals in veterinary clinics or on farms, as we can treat lots of different species. However, some vets will also work with animals in the wild, or in zoos and safari parks, or also in making sure that the meat and fish that we buy to eat is safe. Some vets will also work in research, or at universities teaching the vets of the future. Other vets may not work directly with animals, and will work with the government to help make the laws that protect animal and human health. So been a vet can be a very varied experience! It will always be hard work, no matter what kind of vet you are, but it is also a very fun and rewarding job. It is a job when’re you get to work with many people, not just animals 🙂
