A parasite of dogs is an organism (a living thing) that lives on a dog and relies on it for food and shelter. Examples of parasites of dogs are fleas, ticks and worms. Some of these parasites will only live on and in dogs, but others, such as fleas are less fussy and can live on other different species too, like cats and hedgehogs.
