      Hi 374nveg48

How do the beaches disappear? This is often difficult to see, which is why we measure the amount of sand and stones on the beach before and after a storm. The big waves hit the beach and because of how much energy or ‘oompf’ they have, they can pick up the sand and pull it down away from the beach onto the seabed. This makes the beach that we can see and what we stand on much lower. After the storm and during the summer we have less storms, and nice waves which push the sand back onto the top part of the beach so sometimes the beach gets bigger again.

      Lauren 😀
