Question: Before you were studying spider were you scared of spiders

Yes I used to be really scared of spiders! Until I went to the rainforest in Indonesia and my job was to make sound recording of monkeys… there were so many spiders everywhere and giant ones too, my local forest guide thought it was hilarious that I was afraid and kept putting them on me! The only way to get him to stop and get my recordings was to pretend I wasn’t afraid any more… then eventually I realised they weren’t going to hurt me and actually they looked pretty cool. They can still make me jump sometimes though!
