This is a really interesting question! I don’t think scientists know this yet, but what they have found are some of the important chemicals that life as we know it need to flourish and survive. There is evidence that some of the elements that make up life on earth, like hydrogen, oxygen and carbon exist on other planets, but we don’t yet have evidence that life has has been found yet.

Another thing that makes like on other planets a possibility is that scientists that work on the physics of space, called astrophysicists, know that there are just so many other planets, galaxies and solar systems out there, that there is a good chance that one or more of these might support life. I wonder if it would be the same kind of life as here on Earth or something completely different that is beyond our imagination? Fascinating stuff, eh?

Although I’m not an astronomer, my guess is that there must be. Scientists have estimated that in the 200 billion galaxies that make up our Universe, there are over 1 million, million, million, million planets! That’s 24 zeros!

Surely one of those other planets must have some sort of life! I would love to know the answer to this, and I hope scientists find the answer before I die!
